I use pidgin at the moment and that runs fine. I want to run an original aim client however. I've tried in the past and aim clients have really screwed up my windows vista business operating system.

When I previously Installed aim 6.* (i forget which one) it resulted in disabled audio functionality in wmp11, creating the red-x network icon, you may be familiar with these problems; and I hope you are for i'm inquiring in accordance to a safe aim version to install on vista os that wouldn't cause any problems.

Any additional information would be invaluable.

    Thanks

I'm using 6 in Vista and never had the slightest problem.

Try Trillian, Pidgin, or Miranda all can access AOL.

I use 5.5 as I can't stand all the spyware in newer versions and it runs fine.
