What is the worst/oldest and newest/best computer that you still use on a day-to-day basis. It can be Mac or PC.
Please post any specs you know.

I have a Powermac G3 as my oldest. (not very old, but...) (1999)
    Kubuntu 6.06
    352 MB PC100 RAM
    350 MHz G3 Processor
    13.5 GB HDD
16 MB ATI RAGE 128 PCI

And the one I think is my best is this:

    IBM PC300PL 6565-85U (1999)
    Windows 2000 Pro SP4
    640 MB PC133 RAM
    600 Mhz PIII
    40 GB HDD
32 MB NVidia Riva TNT2 Pro

    But it's debatable between:
    Dell Dimension L800r (2000)
    Windows 2000 Pro SP4
    384 MB PC100 RAM
1 GHz PIII (Was 800 MHz)
    60 GB HDD
Onboard Video (No AGPs (n) )

My worst I ever had was a computer sold to me by a tech.

It had a fujitsu hard drive, that burned out after a year and I lost all my information. Its cpu was advertized as a Duron 1200, it was actually overclocked 850. The cpu was also NOT changeable in the mobo. It was 'burned-in'

The motherboard, a K7SEM, always was crashing on me. It was also the Cheapest on the market.

I'm glad I learned how to build my own so I could get rid of it.:D

The worst computer even in my household? That's easy. My brother bought a machine years ago.

The brand name started with "e" and ended in "Machine". ;)

Hey, it's not difficult to insult e-machines. The 233 patchwork dealie I'm on now was faster than that thing. :p

    The worst for me:
I had a lot of hardware failure with a Gateway Essential P3 500.
Monitor, sound card, cd-rom, hard drive, dialup modem failed and it originally came with only 64mb ram.

Second worst an HP P3 600 laptop that burned out the display just out of warrenty and would have cost almost as much to repair as replace.

Using a Dell Optiplex GX110 P3 800 right now that is holding up very well.

That's funny...I have heard countless stories about a person's computer going T.U. as soon as the warranty expires....it's a conspiracy I tell ya! :D

ahhhh, just bad luck eh? :D

I will say, I had an AST Advantage P100 way back in the day that lasted a wee bit longer than the warranty. It died last summer, after running flawlessly the whole time.

Even the Gateway tech was a joke :D
One time they told me they had no records showing I even bought a Gateway and said I made up the serial # :D_:D
