My system is an 64-bit HP mini compaq, intel core 2 duo cpu dc5800 E8400 @ 3.00 GHZ with install memory of 4.00 GB. When I'm streaming a live game the pic. and sound are a little choppy. Is this a graphics issue? How can we solve this?

What's the complete model number of that computer?

What's the part/product number(P/N) on it?

From what I can determine, the HP Compaq Mini computers come in 1x and 2x and 3x series.

Is the picture and sound choppy in the live stream or on your computer as you are playing?

Is the live stream choppy for others?

In other words, when you view your live stream from a different computer on a different network with a different Internet connection, is it still choppy?

What software are you using to live stream with?

Lastly, let's see the following.

Speedtest by Ookla

  • Click the green Begin Test button.

That didn't really address my questions, though the fact that it's worst on your laptop may be because of several reasons.

Please answer my previous questions as best you can and post the results from the Speedtest.

Those were flavallee's questions from post #2. While the answers to those questions will provide useful information, I was looking for answers to the questions in post #5 in addition to the results of the Speedtest.

I believe the reason behind your livestream issues is the upload bandwidth you have.

It looks like you're getting just under 3 Mbps upload speeds which is not sufficient for high-definition live streaming.

No problem about not being able to answer some of my questions if you don't know the answer(s). I'd just ask that you tell me that instead of posting other information or ignoring the questions completely. :)

what should the up speed be? The choppiness is very little, so if increase my ip service to the next level that should correct it.

The required upload speed depends on what you're trying to upload, and I can't really say for sure what the required amount is for your particular situation.

Given the information you've provided I can just say that is a contributing factor if not the root cause of the problem.

If I had to guess, I'd shoot for 10 Mbps upload. That's what I use when I live stream and/or upload videos to Youtube and things have worked just fine.

You're welcome. :)

If you're satisfied, don't forget to mark your thread as solved! (y)

You can mark your own threads solved using the
button at the top and bottom of the page.

Or if you'd like to do so if/when you upgrade the upload speeds and see an improvement you can mark this thread solved then.
