Okay, so I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+....on my screen I'll get the little circled 1 on apps....such as Google Drive, others. I can search forever and not find out what they're telling me....I look in Settings/ Apps, within the apps from the desktop, wherever. The notification or whatever won't go away. So please.....can someone explain to me exactly how I go about finding out what the notification is about, so I can get rid of the little red circles? It may be a minor thing, but it's a constant annoyance that I can't figure out how to resolve it. Thanks!

It depends on the app, it could be a notification of a message(like a notice from the app itself), a new file(such as a new upload in OneDrive), a new email or text message.

Now that I know what it is called, I could search a lot better than yesterday.
It is called an app icon badge.

You can turn them off or keep them on.
