What does this do : "TV Data Adapter"

What does this do : "TV Data Adapter". i have it on my computer but i do not know what it does .

i'm thinking its for tv viewing on my computer but i would need an additional hardware componet to use it.

also, is the "TV Data Adapter" hardware?

well, what kinda expansion cards do you have? where is the phrase "tv data adapter" showing up? if you have a coaxial (cable) male connector coming out the back of your rig, then you have some sort of tv tuner card...

i've had two cards that were tv tuners - a wintv pci board, and now the ati radeon 7500 all-in-wonder.
