what does this mean

in the bottom right of my screen in the toolbar if i put my mouse over a little icon i get the message.....local area connection a network cable is unplugged
should i just ignore it or is it something which needs adressing
if its not harmful how do i get rid of it

IGNORE it as long as everything is working, sound like you have 2 or more connections showing in control panel under internet connections?

looks like that one not in use you can disable in control panel/network connections
right click disable the one not being used.
that will remove the not connected icon near the clock
