    Hello everyone,

I have been having HDD issues on my ASUS G73JH: Either the HDD isn't detected (regardless of HDD) or it randomly crashes. I decided to open it up in order to see if something looked funny with the HDD controller or the cables and one of the cables shows a slight burn and a tear in the casing. Could someone people tell me the name of the cable so that I can purchase a new one? Also, do you have any other recommendations for what could be causing this problem? My apologies if this is in the wrong section.

    Thank you!

Nothing I've ever seen inside a computer, could it be a grounding cable?

I'm somewhat certain it's a type of SATA cable or something because it connects the HDD to the MoBo.

No, not for a year or so now (and it would be void now anyway).
