What is this part of the motherboard called?

And what it is for?Does it have a speacial purpose? Does all motherboard has this switch or only the older motherboards. I'm just curious about all the components of the motherboard and I don't know what this one is for? :confused:

If it breaks it just switch it back to the way it was, but it's at your own risk since nobody knows what it does.

No, but since it probably controls the speed for your front side bus your PC may not boot if you mess with it or you could overclock the CPU and fry it.

Why don't you tell us what the make/mdl of the board is and maybe some info can be found.

Is it fair to assume that you do not have the manual for this board? I'd bet a donut that it tells you in there exactly what the settings do!!!

it allows you to control your FSB/ and AGP clock speed

you can do what that does from the bios.

using that swich is the fastest way to kill the pc


it can also be called a "Ratio adjustment setting switch"
