    Hi all!

Does anyone know what this file does? winwd.exe. It is in the start up process of Windows. I’ve searched on the Net with no information. Microsoft does not provided any information.

    Thanks,
    :)

Find and rightclick the file, and choose 'properties'. Does that produce any additional information?

The file is located at the following location: C:\windows\winwd.exe, however using file manager there is no file in that folder. Using the find menu and it says there's no file. However it's in the start up of Windows...

That's not uncommon. Maybe the file has somehow been removed before.

BTW, I do take it that in Folder Options > View "show all files" is ticked?

Well, in that case there's not much to worry about.

You do want to uncheck its startup entry in Msconfig/Startup.
