I need to recode a cell which contains numbers and I am using an array to do it. However, there is something that seems wrong in the formula I'm using.

=SUMPRODUCT(--(F1:F6=Q2),--(G1:G6=T2),(H1:H6))

Note that cells H1 to H6 contain texts such as Head, Spouse, Son, Son in Law, etc.... and cells F1 to f6 and G1 to G6 contain numbers. If I replace these words with numbers, the formula works but I don't need numbers; what I need is that when I run the formula, excel writes the appropriate word in that cell.

Can anyone please help?

regards,
Ali

I don't think I get the idea, do you have a simple sample, maybe seeing it will help.
