    Hi wonderful people!

I am looking to start a cyber security business and, to help determine what the focus of the business should be, I would like to know what pain points you experience in your day to day work in terms of managing cyber security?

Alternatively, what cyber security services or software would you like to see that would make your personal or professional life easier??

Thanks in advance for your time!
    Ben

I need security monitoring. My computers are configured OK with good security, but I don't know when hackers make it through my defences. And if they stay silent and not damage anything, I won't know. I could review my various logs, but I am lazy.

Hi lunarlander, thanks for your reply :) So do you mean software that can search for patterns in your logs in real time and alert you to potential issues?

That would be a good thing for me, and probably for some other people. But whether or not it justifies building/reselling a solution for that makes good business - you will have to think about it. One known solution is already available - SIEM. But they tend to be expensive. And require constant monitoring and follow up. I have read that some SIEM solutions now adds AI to it, but again, they are expensive. Not affordable for consumers, but OK to enterprises.

I don't want to sound flippant. But what is your IT experience?

Corporates are the ones with a cyber security concern. individual users just use it for streaming and what not. But you could read about dedicated ips and ip whitelisting etc and come up with some use cases for businesses and workspaces that need their data secured or want to remotely access it
