Hello all! I'm looking for a budget computer.. I dont mean a SLOW computer, but I definitely dont mean the latest High Tech one. I own 2 computers, one laptop and a desktop. My laptop is a Pentium 4 3 Ghz with 2 Gb of RAM. I use my computer for music composition and I use primarily VST instruments, which eat up a lot of processing power. I get by with my 3 GHz Laptop (but not with my 1.7 Ghz Desktop) and if I could buy a 3Ghz desktop for cheap I would be happy. Now this is the question.. I found on my local classifieds, some people are selling dual core computers.. some are dual core 2 Ghz some faster.. so.. which one can be comparable to a 3 Ghz single processor? Is it comparable, or should I just give it a shot with whatever? I'm looking for something like 200-300 dollars used desktop. Anyone that can help with my question? thanks!
