Ok, we need to know if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) has a spare connector like the pic. below
Or if it does not please post a pic of any other unused power connectors coming from the PSU as there could be adapters that will work.

The motherboard will need a spare connector like this :-

And you will need a Sata data cable like this (that is long enough to reach from the drive to the motherboard) :-
I don't see those on the motherboard sadly. It looks like all I have are these which I'm not sure look the same

I searched online for 'HP 8643 motherboard' as shown in post #1 which lead me here :- https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06429270
Under 'Expansion Slots' it shows two M.2 slots so you could fit an M.2 SSD drive.
Another option would be to replace the current NVMe drive with a higher capacity one as Mark mentioned but they are quite expensive.
Also you could simply get an external USB drive.

I would get extra Ram first then see if you really need more storage.

Allan, that second M.2 port was "A keyed". I'm not sure that a normal SATA M.2 SSD is keyed that way.

Well spotted Mark. (y) I think you're right, a normal Sata M.2 SSD would not fit an A keyed socket
