Hello........ I have just finished getting rid of another brouswer hijacker with the help of the knowledgable people here on techguy. About 6 months ago, I had this same problem and was given this advice. To prevent these attacks, you need to ( get all critical updates from windows......use ad-aware... spybot... and keep them updated....I also downloaded spyguard and spyblaster.) Now, I have followed all this advice and still got hijacked. The only activity that I can connect this to is Google. I had been doing constant searches on Google the last three days for a Disney Vacation. Maybe , this hijacking is connected with Google somehow? All I know is all these programs i have on here( Adaware, Spybot, Spyguard, and Spyblaster) didn't prevent these attacks. Any more advice ?

Well....your doing all you can to prevent such things but this should hold your home page:

    Internet Explorer
To lock your homepage against outside changes:

Correct your home page to the one you prefer, then immediately do the following:
Backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:
    HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\

Right-click on the Internet Explorer key, choose new>Key, name it ControlPanel.

Right-click on ControlPanel, chose new>DWORD value, name it Homepage.
Right-click on Homepage, choose modify and type in the number 1.

This should lock your home page, so no other web site can change it.

Then navigate here and verify the homepage is correct:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
look for the Start Page entry.

    ;)
