I finally cleaned out my computer and got it fully functioning. I want to make sure I dont have the same problems again. I already have Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Hijack This. What other programs can be reasonably purchased which are most effective and worth every penny? Any other freeware that I dont have that I should? Thanks!

    Consider installing the following:

SpywareBlaster v 3.0 and SpywareGuard v2.2, to prevent Active-X drive-by installations, as well as provide real-time browser hijacking protection: http://www.wilderssecurity.net/index.html

IE-SPYAD, a registry file that adds a long list of known "sites" to the Restricted Sites of your Internet Explorer: http://www.staff.uiuc.edu/~ehowes/resource.htm

And of course......keep your system updated, security patches are coming out daily and you should check for any updates regularly.............apps like Spybot,Adaware, and the 3 i just posted have regular updates that need to be manually installed.

    stay safe!
    ;)
