I have a PC that is running WIN98SE, on a AMD Athlon XP 2000 CPU, 256MB DDR 2100 RAM, a 40 GB HD, a 2GB HD, DVD-ROM drive, CD-RW drive, and a GeForce 440 MX video card. I was wondering if a 300 Watt power supply is big enough?
After I hooked the PC together, it ran until about 24 hours later, non-stop, it burnt out the 300 Watt power supply. I wanted to know if I burnt the power supply out because of wattage, maybe a bad power supply, or maybe heat. The machine was running a bit warmmer than it should, but it has enough room to discharge the heat around the PC.
I bought a bigger 350 Watt power supply and everything works fine now for more than 24hours, non-stop.
Any help is great!
