    i accidentally formatted my D drive on my computer while i was installing Windows XP on it. i wanted to format C drive which had old operating system. i had my documents, photos, songs and movies in that partition. can anyone tell me what to do now:confused:

    Hello Shaun,
    The only way to get back your photos, songs and movies from partition "D" is by using partition recovery software. This software recovers data from your partition in a secure and safe way.
    Download the software and recover your data from partition.

    Maybe you should try to find some free partition drive recovery software to help.

    Testdisk has both partition and file recovery functions, and is free. Recuva is also recommended by many.

    Testdisk (for Windows)
    Testdisk Boot Floppy Image
    Testdisk on Live CD
