I just built a customer a rig using a Intel D875PBZ revision 3.04 which is the last, with a P34 bios, also the last, mobo. They want it maxed out. 2 one gig sticks pc3200 in dual channel, memory.Question is I can install a Northwood p4/3.4/512 L2/800 fsb cpu or a Prescott p4 with same specs except 1mb L2 with little difference in cost.I know about the Prescott heat deal but the case cooling and psu are both very good.Thank's for any input.

The Northwood's are faster on a clock to clock basis. They have a shorter execution pipeline and lower cache latencies over the Prescott's.
