🥪Cucumber sandwich x2
🍺Beer
Hi 2Tenty2, A cucumber sandwich is different. I will have to try that sometime for lunch.

Today I was curious about a California vegemite sandwich so I researched it and decided to try it. A California Vegemite Sandwich consist of whole grain bread buttered on both sides and fried to make crispy, vegemite sauce, plump large round tomatoes, avocado, salt, pepper and garlic to taste.

First you fry the whole grain bread that is buttered on both sides until it is a crispy and crunchy, and then remove from the pan and onto a plate, and then you add your vegemite sauce to spread and than add your sliced tomatoes evenly on the bread and than add your avocado and than garlic, salt and pepper to garnish and there you have a wholesome and healthy lunch. You can add a slice of cheese as well but its optional. I think it taste great without the cheese.

My husband and I tried it before going to work and both of us enjoyed it and to compliment our rare special we had a glass of apothic red wine. :)

Re: beer and tomato juice.
Not an unheard of thing here. Long time ago, we used to go to an out of town restaurant and wait at the bar. There was a seat there reserved for a daily patron (really nice fellow, LE or Security type), whom we frequently struck up conversation with, remembered us everytime. His libation of choice was beer, side of tomato juice ((might have been BM mix)) so I couldn't help but mention that fond memory of Rus. They put a cushion in his seat at the end of bar, so folks would know - that's Rus' spot. :) )

^ If I may say one more thing I didn't mention in that aside...
Rus was injured in his line of duty, used a cane, was not a bad-ass type like you'd think from ex LE, but a gentle guy that would close the place down, just to safely escort the waitresses to their cars after closing time.
He was, in fact a country gentleman.
Sorry, I miss those times, and that guy.
