    I'm running Windows Live OneCare, Spybot S & D, AdAware, and SuperAntiSpyware. Each program acquires spyware daily. Is there not one program to do it all? :cool:

    No, it's best to use muilty programs for spyware as each will find diffent things, I use Spybot, Adaware, ewido (free) and Spyware Blaster for spyware, As for Antivirus I think Nod32 is one of the best, it also covers spyware. It's better to have 10 troopers with 6 rounds each than 1 with 60 rounds:)

    I've never heard of Super Antispyware but Spybot and AdAware are not 'real time' programs (unless you have the Tea Timer and AdWatch features enabled), so they only remove things once you are infected.

    I have NOD32 and it does target spyware and trojans as well as 'normal' viruses etc. IMHO, one of the most effective things you can do is to install SpywareBlaster by Javacool. This is not a 'real time' scanner so it doesn't use any system resources, but it does stop spyware getting installed. If you have sufficient system resources, you could try SpywareGuard as well; http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/products.html

    These are free programs but you should donate if at all possible to ensure that this excellent software remains available.

    I agree that multiple, independent propgrams is the best approach. "Suites" of 'do everything' usually create problems, esp. for removal. Below is what I am ising, with total satisfaction and success. {redoak}

    ZoneLabs free firewall
    AVG anti-virus
    Ad-Aware SE Personal
    Spybot S and D
    SpywareGuard
    SpywareBlaster
    EWIDO- extended trial version
    A-squared
    CWShredder
    Bazooka

    All of these are free or have a free/trial version.
