Is there a difference between Optimizing a disk and Defragmenting a disk? If so, can you explain. Thanks

Depends on what type of disk ie mech hd or ssd. Optimizing a mech disk is defragmenting however optimizing a ssd is running the TRIM command. Win10 will optimize all disks however what it does to the disk is dependent on what type of disk.
