Thanx, Tech Support Guys!!!(y) I have not posted to the forums but have learned a ton just reading the posts. Because of you I managed to track down Spyware.Banker on my mother's computer. She is 87, vision-impaired, and lives in Germany. I access her computer via "Go to my PC", and we talk daily via Skype. Yesterday she clicked on a malicious attachment. Her AVIRA virus protection told her that it caught the nasty. But she noticed there were new icons/links left on her desktop. -- To make a long story short, I managed to find and delete the trojan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware scan. I tried Trend Micro's scanner but couldn't get it to work, I think my firewall is blocking it. I feel her computer is pretty clean, but will do a few more scans, also reset the Restore. - Then I ran a scan on MY computer, "just for fun" or so I thought -- I NEVER click on anything. BUT there it was hiding in my registry. Also eliminated it with mbam. I am doing a complete scan right now, then will reset the restore point. -- Now comes the stupid questions: should I get all new passwords? Especially my email. I will retrace the sites I have been on (not many, I've been too busy trying to solve this), so there shouldn't be too many changes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
PS - sorry to be so wordy -- I just can't manage to write more succinct....:(
