When should I upgrade my motherboard?

    Specs:
ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AMD 7850G Socket AM3 MB

Silverstone Strider ST50F ATX 500W PSU

Seagate 500GB Serial ATA HD 7200/16MB/SATA-3G
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition AM3
    Corsair XMS3 2GB PC10666 DDR3 Dual Channel 1333MHz
Biostar Radeon HD 4670 512MB DDR3 PCIe, HDMI

Should I wait until I want to upgrade the cpu?

Right now I just plan to upgrade the gpu to a GTX 550 ti and add more RAM for gaming.

People normally upgrade the motherboard when they want to upgrade their CPU, so I'd wait for that.

If you just want to upgrade your graphics card and RAM, you should keep your current motherboard.

Upgrading the mobo is pretty much the same thing as getting a new computer without the case. You may as well do that, especially since you can get barebone kits and use most of your current hardware for around the same price, or a little more.
