where is edit/invert selection

    when using explorer where has the 'invert selection' gone ???

    How come I have it and others don't ??? ... Are you saying the menu bar with EDIT is missing ??
    At the top left corner of your explorer window is a button labeled "Organize" > Click it and then on the Layout sub-menu, click to show the Menu Bar.

    yes alt /e/1
    that gets a drop down up with file/edit ect,ect
    but it does not make them stay on the top bar as yours are

    I was Right clicking an entry and not using the menu.

    Yes, it is there using the menu.

    Sorry to mislead you :blush:

    Want to restore the Edit menu DELETE that's normally missing in W7 ???
    See Here

    With enough hacking .. W7 almost works as good as XP

    Now .. You may find you don't need Invert by working backwards :D :D
    If your purpose is to select many .. But not all ... By selecting the ones you don't want and inverting ... Try this.

    CRTL+A to Select All .. then CTRL+ Click the ones you don't want.

    Just a quick FYI - pressing the Alt key will make the file, edit etc. menu bar show temporarily.
