I know that I.E.5.5 has an easily available record of history of sites you have visited, but where is AOL`s history?.In the preferences screen, you can delete your history trail, but is there a file somewhere that has a history something similar to internet explorer?.

I don't use AOL myself, but I found the following:

Click on My AOL in your toolbar.
Scroll down to Preferences.
Click on Toolbar.
Click on Clear History Now

Good luck, Tony

Try this. Aol icon>preferences>WWW>general tab>advanced>settings. It may not work with the newer versions but somewhere in there you should be able to pull it up. If not, just go to control panel>internet options>settings>view files. IE is the browser for AOL. If you have something in control panel for AOL, you may find it there also.

I did not realise that IE was the browser for AOL,although its pretty obvious really.I just thought that there might be something deep in the AOL folder that stored your history. So when you delete the contents of the temp internet files and temp IE 5.5,you are also deleting the temp history files of AOL,is this correct?.They are one in the same, even if you browse and look at web pages from the AOL screen as opposed to going to IE5.5?

Since AOL uses Microsoft's Internet Explorer Browser, (albeit an older version), it probably uses the same History file, which can be found in the C:\Windows\History directory, and not to be confused with the C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files folder.

I would be pleased if you continued your search for an area in AOL that stores them also. In all my studies of AOL (its a know your enemy thing) I have not read that its actually does and not just uses IE's. I had assumed it did since it runs IE. I would be interested in knowing. Try right clicking on My AOL icon in the systray and choosing sysinformation. You may find it there, possibly under utilities.
