I am my "brother's keeper" only in this sense his PC keeper. He was with one ISP and decided to quit the internet for awhile. Well he seen a disk from AOL that gave him "eternity hours" for free and installed it. I told him he would be sorry. Less than 24 hours later he begs me to get rid of AOL and connect him to the ISP I use. Well I told him to go to add & remove and remove AOL and I then talked him through a dialup connection to my ISP, after he set up an account with them of course.
He then called and said he could not get Outlook Express to work. It opened to a blank page and FROZE. so I made a house call and when I checked his OE folder there was only a few files in it. Mine had many files. So I looked on the web for a download of just OE and found none. I went To Microsoft site and did the SP pack for 6 and tried to reinstall but that didn't work either.
So what should I do? Burn a copy of my OE and remove his OE and then install or what? Is there a place on web to just download Oe by itself? I did many searches with different search engines and came up empty handed. Welcome all help on this one!!!!

Why did the IE reinstall fail?

The setup/download manager will report "initializing setup..." and then offer two choices: "Install Now" (the default choice) and "Install Minimal or Customize Your Browser."

You want that last one. You'll be able to choose just Outlook Express.
