I have just added another stick of ram I have 4 x 256. This shows up in system information as
    Total physical memory =1,024mb
    but then it says
    available physical memory= 576.14.mb

Is my graphics card stealing it its a radeon 9200se

    Its got me all coffuzled:eek:

and my motherboard is a Giga-Byte GA-8ISXT-FS Motherboard

That sounds OK. Depending on how many programs you have running Windows is going to use up about half of the available physical memory. As long as it says 'Total physical memory =1,024mb' that means all of the RAM is being recognized.

Your video card should have it's own memory so it shouldn't be taking any away from the system memory.
