    • I do hardcore video editing

    • I prefer to use Final Cut Pro X

    • I use Adobe photoshop

    • I plan on gaming

    • I plan on editing hi-def videos

    • Learning how to hack and code

    • I will use animation software

    • I plan on playing GTA V and a Overwatch (at the least)

    • I have a budget of $3,000

    • I would rather have too much, than not enough (hardware wise)

    • For example, I prefer 16 gb of memory vs 8gb

    • Will be traveling with it- needs to be portable

    • Will need graphics/video card

    • good battery life

•in the future, I may be doing more hardcore things and want it to be able to do those tasks.

Hey jessicafoley, and welcome to Tech Support Guy!

Considering your budget, a lot of laptops would work for you. For performance and portability, I have always recommended the Razer Blade series. These can be equipped with a GTX 1060 and a Core i7 processor for about two grand (14 inch).

They are constructed extremely well and are VERY portable considering their components.

If you really want power you can go for the Asus RoG series, which is extremely customizable spec-wise but has less portable options.

    Just some ideas.
