I am wanting to buy a laptop with a 3d graphics accelerator in it that is capable of running XGL. I've seen a lot of videos of this stuff (involving Beryl, AIXGL, COMPIZ etc...) on google and youtube...and I've just gotta have it!

So, what brand should I go for the most? ATI? NVidia? Others? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

I would definitely do as much research as possible before purchasing anything. However, in my experience, most Linux distros support Nvidia much more completely than the others.

Nvidia based is by far the safest bet.

Apparently ATI drivers are getting better, but in my experience nvidia's drivers have worked terrific on everything for years. (linux based.)
