I was messing around and cleaning up my WindowsME

Under My Computer / Properties / File System / Hard Disk my machine was set to Network Server.

I changed it to Destop Computer, but I am wondering why it was set to Network Server in the first place

    and

    what is the difference?

I am just a little lone person and not serving anyone :)

Leave it set at Network. It sets aside a little more memory to be used with file and directory activities.
