Couldn't believe that per lb Hot dogs are pretty expensive.

I mean these are the left overs of animals.... lips..eyeballs, bunghole...forehead.. well you get it....

I mean at $4.99 a lb and up, that's pretty pricey!!

Even porkchop and steaks are not that high!!!

I would think the leftovers of animals would be cheaper per pound than the good parts of the animals!!!

What do you think?? And boy.. they sure taste good!!! i just don't like to think about how they make it when I'm eating it!!

Just as a side note - about 5 years ago I won a radio contest regarding the Packer Super Bowl and was taken to work in the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile. The funny thing is that I'm not a hot dog fan, I just don't like the taste that much. But let me tell you that my neighbors were totally shocked to see that vehicle in my driveway. Also, a couple cars almost ran red lights checking out the weiner mobile, it was fun to watch.:D :D ;)

Well, I checked out the link provided a couple of posts up, and can't confirm that the content has been mandated to be only muscle meat. But......just for the record and public knowledge.....
there was a TV commentary (20/20 or dateline or something like that) a year or 2 ago. In that review, they said that studies showed that a child who eats 1 hot dog per week is 10 times more likely to get leukemia than a child that doesn't.
I have a relative who is a cattle rancher, and he tells me what is in the hot dogs.......can't remember the last time I ate one.

yeah, here in USA hot dogs are like everywhere. hamburgers too!! yummy. Being that you are in the UK though, the national standard for meat could be different. don't know on that one.
ours here are made from pork, chicken and beef (unless you pay more for strictly turkey meat).
but yeah, I think the films you watch are probably pretty accurate. Except for like the mobile hot dog stands. Those are gonna be mainly in New York, chicago, and some of the coastal california cities. Not really anywhere else that I know of. I have never seen one personally............LOL

    LOL...

These are all interesting... But you average hotdog is priced by who is selling it.

Your average "Ball Park" hotdog will go for about double the price of a store brand.

    Why? Advertising.

    This does have an influence.
Your kids don't ask for a Walmart brand sneeker...
Nike... Reabock... is what they ask for.
    Adults do the same thing...

    So in the end...
If you want a cheaper hotdog... Forget Oscar Myar... Go for Buylo. Or some other store brand fare.
