Why can't I drag and drop any more?

For no apparent reason my WinXP Pro computer will not let me drag and drop in Windows Explorer, to move or copy files via the right mouse button. It used to work, but now doesn't. I'm hoping I just need to adjust a setting, but don't know where to look.

first thing to ask is if you've installed any programs recently, that is since your computer last dragged-n-dropped

Also may simply be a setting in the taskbar

    1. Right-Click on the taskbar
    2. Select Properties
    3. Click on the Start Menyu tab
    4. Click on the Customize button
    4. Click on the Advanced tab
    5. Make sure Enable dragging and dropping is checked.
    Reboot

Thanks to all who replied. I re-booted, and it's now working. That doesn't tell me what went wrong, but as long as it works, that's what's important.

Just prior to noticing the problem, I did install a Google desktop plugin. Maybe that's what caused it.

Honestly I would not be using Google desktop, Google desktop plugin, Google toolbar or anything else they have to offer.

Glad it's working. Seen that rarely even without Google toolbar. Sure was faster than reinstalling.

Usually one the last things I generally recommend. Just before a clean install.
