Why don't more computer systems ship with Blu-Ray drives?

Blu-Ray drives can benefit many by offering:

1.Ability for users to watch Blu-Ray movies from their own computer.

2.Burn HD video and sound data to disc.

3.Have a much larger capacity than CDs and DVDs combined.

4.Enabling computer programmers the ability to experiment with Blu-Ray file systems, sectors, and data structing, as well as write Volume Boot Record bootstrapping kernels and software, and/or boot from the device when none others are available or capable.

Why is Blu-Ray so big in movie distribution media, but so small in modern day computing use and practices?

Vote and push for manufacturers like Dell to install OEM-supported Blu-Ray drives, driver software, and this will both benefit them and us in the long run.

Blu-Ray drives are noticably more expensive than regular optical drives - which is one reason why they don't come as standard equipment in most computers.
