My laptop freezes every ten seconds for five seconds. Let me rephrase that. Every ten seconds my laptop freezes. The freeze time lasts for 5-10 seconds and then resumes normality for 10 more seconds.

I don't know why it is happening. I turned it on today and this is the first time I've seen it. Please help me. My laptop is precious to me and holds important information.

My laptop is a Hp probook 4530s. The latest thing I've installed is vmware player

It is aggravating to even type this because it freezes too much.

    Thank you in advance

did it happen after installing vmware player
try this , and pick a date before the problem started

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Restore PC to an Earlier Date & Time

    Go Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>System Restore

    • Click in the radio button Choose a different restore point
    • Click Next
    • put a tick in Show more restore points
    • Pick a Date before this happened
    • Click Next
This should restore the PC to that time & date

you may need to use safemode to do the restore. As the PC starts keep tapping F8 - a menu will appear - choose safemode

I tried the system restore to no avail. I even did it in safe mode just in case, still no dice.

It did not happen directly after I installed vmware player. It started like a week after.

I have a suspicion that it is because of my wireless adapter on my laptop. I did an experiment where i plug in another usb wireless adapter and magically no more freezing. But when I switch back to the laptops wireless card it starts happening again.

    any solutions?

There is none. Would a fresh install of windows 7 fix the problem?
