I have a Dell Optiplex 755 that I purchased on December 15, 2013 and received on December 24, 2013, yeah I know just before Christmas time, funny. I asked for priority mail. So, I got it installed by December 27, 2013 and been using it to browse emails, do searches, and apply for jobs. Recently, the dumb thing, started slowing down all of a sudden. It's slowing down too much. What could be the possible reasons why it is slowing down

The 2 refurbished Dell OptiPlex 755 minitower computers that I purchased in 2013 came with Windows 7, so I'm a bit surprised that yours came with Windows XP.

Mine also came with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33 GHz processor and 4 GB of DDR2 RAM.

-----------------------------------------------------

Do the following so we can see the exact specs of yours.

Download and save the

TSG System Information Utility (SysInfo.exe)

After it's been downloaded and saved, double-click it to run it.

Information about your computer will appear.

Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE text here.

------------------------------------------------------

Also do the following so we can see what's installed and auto-starting and if any obvious issues need to be addressed.

Go here and click the large green "Download" button to download and save HiJackThis 2.0.5 (HijackThis.exe)

After it's been downloaded and saved, close all open windows.

Double-click it and allow its main window to load.

Uncheck "Do not show this window when I start HiJackThis".

Click "Do a system scan and save a log file".

When the scan is finished in 30 - 60 seconds, a log file will appear.

Save that log file.

Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE log file here.

You appear to have the "Desktop" model(second largest of the 4 models) of the Dell OptiPlex 755, and it appears to have 2 GB of RAM.

What's the "service tag" number and/or "express service code" number on it?

This is also my Hi jack this is the event monitoring log report to continue the troubleshooting.
Where's the HiJackThis log?
