I have had my Dell Ispiron Laptop for a few years and have always accessed my Wi_fi from any room in the house. How, all of a sudden, unless I am in the room where the router is, it can't find the Wi_F-. My tablet and phone find it, no problem. So I am wondering why this might be, and if an antenna would help?

Maybe the antenna leads are just loose or corroded. The wireless card is probably easily accessed through a small cover on the laptop bottom. Check the antenna leads. (I'm assuming that you are using the integrated adapter.)

You have opened the relevant small cover, located the wireless card, and there are no antenna leads attached (or very nearby where they should be attached)????
