I recently have been getting a message after boot up:

16 Bit MS-DOS Subsystem
c:\Windows\INSTAL~1\ACT6B~2\SC-ACR~1.EXE
The NTVDM CAL has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:05ca IP:01bc OP.ff ff ff 00
Chose 'Close' to terminate the application.

I chose 'close' and it goes away and nothing happens.

Does anyone have any idea what this means?

It's possibly related to some Adobe programs. Try uninstalling them and reinstalling them. Please post your results.

After your done uninstalling, post back everything you have done to the system and everything you uninstalled and if the problem still persists or if you have a different problem.
