OK, I have XP and when I click to start one of my browsers(IE and Firefox), the AOL screen will pop up wanting me to sign it and such. It also does this when I start playing a downloaded game on my computer. So pretty much anything Internet related/connected I get my AOL screen. I assume it's been added into a startup folder somewhere but I dont know where. Any help?

I wouldn't be able to do that, because I share a computer with some friends and they use the AOL. Not dial-up but DSL

Hi, give this a try: Sign into Aol. Go to and click on Settings on the Toolbar. On index screen go to Startup Settings and see if either or both of "Enable Fast Start" and "Open Aol when I'm connected to the Internet" are checked. Uncheck them by clicking on the checked box(es). Click save. Hopefully that should resolve the problem and Aol will open only when you physically open it. Be advised though, every once in a while, Aol settings have to be "reminded" who's boss and even if the settings are the way you want them, you sometimes have to redo them and save again to get it to behave the way you want! LOL!
Good Luck. Let me know if this worked for you.
