I have a problem that has been bothering me for awhile, and now it is starting to bother other people. On this one computer, the monitor is about three years old and now has really crappy resolution. I always thought it was me and my eyes were going bad (as they really are) and was trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with me. (as I can read the display on my other computer) The display is so bad you can't read things at 12pt font, or large text size in internet explorer. (they are just a camouflage blur) The monitor is not very old and I have several other monitors 5 yrs+ older and they work great, so I can't see how this monitor is bad already. The computer is also only three years old, so I don't see how it could be from the vid card. How do you think I can go about fixing this. Will new drivers work? Do I need a new vid card? I don't care a whole lot about how much money goes into it because it was a free gift from Best Buy. (no lemon policy after four years on the 486 before this one) Any ideas? I have never seen this before. If it weren't for two other people who noticed it, I would swear it is just my eyes. This has all happened in the last week or so. (more less than more) I remember it happening since about last Wednesday.

According to the computer up stairs, I have about 3000 some posts... not 129.

If the display is blurry then the monitor is probably shot. Some don't last as long as others. If you have another computer and monitor that are functioning fine, then just swap the bad monitor with the known good one to determine if that's the problem.

    Hi deuce_mn

I agree with Max19 the monitor could be shot. Try the monitor on a different system and see if it stil is blurry. Does the monitor have a menu with a Degauss function? If so try that and see if it helps. BOL
