    cable internet works fine, but wifi suddenly stopped working. this was right after it showed a sudden boost in connection quality (from average to good). i didnt change anything, it just stopped suddenly. but on the mobile devices (android) wifi is shown as connected, and good connection quality, but there is no connection. sometimes it works after reconnecting, but only shortly, 1-30 min. neighbours use the same isp but they have no problems.
    this is the modem: Ubee EVW320b Wi-Fi modem

    what i already tried but didnt fix it:
    * changing channels, every channel on 2,4 ghz
    * using 5ghz instead of 2,4ghz
    * using wifi on other devices (android mobiles)
    * i checked with neighbours for interfering cables or devices but they didnt have any new equipment
    * reconnecting power cable from modem
    * there are no interrupting devices nearby like babyfoons
    * using wifi very close to modem, no difference

    Sometimes a simple reset or power cycle of the router will suffice.

    A second thing to try is reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure it.

    I have no idea what you need or want to configure. Maybe SSID, encryption, channel, port forwarding, etc.

    I reset the modem/router, but then i cant even connect to the address anymore, while cable internet works fine. the address is "not in range' even 10 cm from the router. is it possible that i have to 'enable' wireless internet in settings or should this be set automatically? how do i check if wireless internet is enabled?

    What address?

    It's recommended to have wireless devices at least 5 or 6 feet from the router or wireless access point.

    A simple reset of the router will not change any settings. A reset to factory defaults will normally enable the wireless, but I suppose that doesn't necessarily apply to every router model.

    Most, is not all, wireless routers have a wireless LED. If yours does, look to see if it is on and whatever color it is supposed to be. Check in the wireless section to see to what the "Wireless Mode" is set.
