HI, if your phones wifi is working, then the problem may well be with the computer settings.
Make sure you have not got an ethernet cable plugged in, as the internet will automatically try to work through the ethernet cable, and not the wifi signal. Therefore, if your ethernet cable was damaged, you could end up not getting any internet.
Start, settings, wifi, then click on whichever is your internet identifier (ie: VM3762822 for example) and click connect.
If still not working, have you moved the laptop to a place where the signal is being blocked? Microwaves can block the signal when they are running, or baby monitors, metal, concrete walls.
