Ok, I have read other posts of people with similar problems, but could not make head nor tail of it!

I purchased my EI System 3115 Notebook yesterday and everything is working fine except one thing:

My wifi connection keeps disconnecting after about an hour of so. I have strong connection to the router, but then suddenly it will go and when I search for networks it will not find my home network.

    Anyone know whats causing this?

try changing the channel of your connection in case there's something in the air that's causing that from time to time. Also I'd check for firmware on the router you never know... and hmm is that happening only to you or to other people on the network too?

No it isn't happening to other users.
We have 3 pc's on the network, one is directly into the router, the other also uses the wirless. But I am the only one using a laptop.
I have no idea whats going on.

You indicated that this has happened more than once, so there must be more to the story. How do you eventually detect network(s) and get connected to your router again? Have to Restart? Have to turn the laptop off for awhile? It just starts working again? ???

It's been happening on and off since I bought the laptop too days ago.
I have to restart the laptop in order for it to find the network.

What wireless utility are you using to manage the connection? And are you sure that there is no other one running?

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.
