I installed a wireless router/access point on the first floor and a wireless pccard in my laptop.

On the first floor of the house, I have good reception (signal strength 80-95% depending on the room.

Upstairs, on the second floor, signal starts to degrade. Going up the stairs with the laptop, signal drops to 70%. In the bedroom, signal drops further to 65%, then the connection is lost.

Any suggestions to boost the signal ?

Is it normal for the connection to disappear completely when signal strength is around 65% ?

what kind of wi-fi router do you own? Linksys offers a signal booster - which works well. It sits right underneath your router. Otherwise you'll have to put the router in the ceiling or in another location.
