Will 32bit hardware work in a 64bit machine?

I'm upgrading from win7 32bit to Win7 64bit. I'm having trouble with my sound card. It is 32bit. There are no 64bit drivers for it. However it is a Sound Blaster PCI 128 (I'm assuming 'bit'). I know its old but its reliable and it has served me very well in the past.

It doesn't seems to be able to install win Win7 64bit. (It did before on win7 32bit) The error message says "incorrect handlers" when I install the drivers.

I wonder if I have to buy a whole new soundcard or is there a trick to installing 32bit hardware on a 64bit machine.
