will a bad mobo powerup????

    i think lightning hit my desktop. the power supply doesnt work. so i hooked up another ps and my mobo powers up, but no bios, no video output..nothing.


    what would u guess is the problem?

    It's all guesswork with so few clues, so try unplugging everything but the video and try again. Take out all the cards (except video) and most of the RAM chips too.

    Most likely dead... but worth a SHOT to remove everything like Aaron says...

    You can have half-dead motherboards. Its also a good chance other parts are dead too :(

    Or... they have limited life and will fail weeks or months down the road or increased errors.
