My HP laptop had shown severe delay for two weeks but I was able to use it. Within 5 days, the computer screen blacked out and returned to login. Hours later a blue screen displayed an error message as seen in the pic. Then a black screen displayed a different error message which is also included. When the computer turns off it returns to login and to the desktop but I am not able to transfer files to another computer device because it keeps freezing. Please help! How can I retrieve my files on this defective laptop? This is being posted from a different laptop because at the state it is in right now it is unusable. Thanks so much in advance.
Go download a Live CD of Ubuntu, burn the iso file to DVD. Then boot with it. You will be able to copy files from the hard drive to a usb memory stick. The Live CD can run without installing it to the hard drive.
My computer freezes to where I can't get anything done (if it even allows me to get to the desktop without crashing). And my laptop does not come with a DVD drive. I'm not sure how I can go about doing this.
It sounds like the hard drive is failing. Even if you are going to use the LiveCD, I don't think it would help if the hard drive is not working as it should... fingers crossed for you!
