My problem is with regards to Win 2000. When I am Shutting down my PC, in Win 2000, I have the option of Shutdown or Restart. Naturally I choose Shutdown, however once I click OK my computer goes into restart mode it seems, and I must wait for it to reboot. Once it has rebooted I can then once again click on Shutdown and the computer does a proper shutdown taking the usual few seconds to powerdown correctly. This is the same routine everytime I shutdown. I do not have Restart clicked by accident either!

    My PC is a P4 1.6 Intel, 256 sdram.

This is not a serious problem I don't think. It is a time consuming problem and because I have only had the PC for a short while I walk away from the PC only to remember its come back on instead of shutting down.
