Win 2K root\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

    Please help! I have not found any instructions that have helped me so far. I am receiving this error msg when I turn my computer on: "Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <windows 2000 root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe. Please re-install a copy of the above file."

    Please point me in the right direction to fix this. I tried using my Windows 2K disc 1 CD, tried starting in safe (and other) modes- nothing has worked.

    I am using Windows 2000 Professional.
