I really hope you can help me because I'm tearing my hair out! I had a hd fail so invested in a sad. I wanted to reinstall win 7 because I'm used to it and like it. I have an official DVD so started the install, but I got a message saying there was a missing driver.
I've searched the net for an answer, watched numerous YouTube videos, but can't get past the problem. I certainly didn't encounter this last time I did an install, but that was within XP.
Can you help?

Just to add, all the solutions I've seen are for installations from a USB.

If Windows setup says you are missing a driver, it must be for an uncommon device. Try unplugging all peripherals, printers and what not, and just leave the SSD. mouse and keyboard. See if that works.

If that doesn't work, then it must be the SSD is missing the driver. There were no SSD's in Win 7 days.

What's the description of the computer that you tried to install Windows 7 in?
It's my guess your computer has a USB3 controller - which Windows 7 doesn't have native support for.
It's my guess you're going to need to integrate USB3 drivers into your Windows 7 install media.
