I have completed build I am typing on it. I used my xp case it is a super case back then when I built xp. Hardware. I have ASUS P8 H61-M LE R2.0 mother board, I3 2120 processor,2X Crucial Ballistix 4 gig DDR3 1600MHZ memory, Ultra LSP750 watt power supply, 500 gig 6gig/s hard drive, DVD writer. Just a little faster:eek: Xp build was a crawler compared to my new Windows 7 64 bit. I am learning win 7 it wants to sleep if you are not moving mouse or keys after a bit, Also no outlook? Did some research windows did not include outlook in this operating system. Also when putting this one together cpu pins are not there just mating surfaces? All is ok anyway`s:)

Outlook is included in some Microsoft Office packages, but has never been included as part of an operating system.

If it is going to sleep earlier than you'd like change it: Control Panel - Power Options - for whatever power plan you are using 'Change plan settings.'

I ran into this issue trying to load an image of win 7 on the factory HP drive.

You must disable secure boot in the boot options of Bios and enable legacy support

I also wiped the factory drive via command line on separate computer as follows:
from run type: (asuming you have admin privliges) if not, create shortcut to cmd then right click it and run as admin
    cmd
    diskpart
select disk 1 (or what ever yours is) be sure to get this right or you may acidently erase data. verify in disk management
    clean

then proceed to ghost image or install fresh from dvd

I think its important for us to TELL people they need to buy business class notebooks that come with Win7 pre-installed... as HP and others with the strong-arm tactics of Microsoft is making it difficult to impossible to install another OS than what came with the computer. It was one of the "features" of UEFI afterall.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge series is the cheapest model, starting at around $450 (AMD CPU) / $470 (Intel i3).
